MARTIN PATERSON scored the only goal of the game as Huddersfield ran out 1-0 victors over Rotherham at the New York Stadium.

The goal secured Huddersfield’s first pre-season win and ended Rotherham’s 5 game unbeaten pre-season as they tasted defeat for the first time!

The goal came late in the game with substitute Adam Hammill handing Paterson his first Town goal on a plate after brilliant play down the wing, beating the attention of two Rotherham defenders, before setting up Paterson for an easy chance from 8 yards.

Huddersfield played a neat passing game but struggled to breakdown the Millers defence, and it is clear that the Terriers need to show more bite in the final third.

The introduction of Hammill certainly seemed to help however Danny Ward & Sean Scannell also were impressive again

James Vaughan also had the ball in the net on 20 minutes, but he saw his effort ruled out for offside.

Overall a much better performance than the other friendlies as the players look to be getting match fit & sharp now.

Onto Wednesday’s test at the Town Ground vs Real Betis now!
