INJURY has claimed Keith Southern with the midfielder suffering a calf strain that will see him ruled out for 7-10 days.

The tough-tackling midfielder missed the pre-season win against Rotherham and will now sit out the match on Wednesday against Real Betis.

There is an outside chance he could be fit to face Oldham on the 27th July but it is thought unlikely and with this being the final friendly before the season proper the chance to stake a claim for the shirt will pass to someone else.

There was some good news for manager Mark Robins, as Oscar Gobern has been cleared to resume training on Monday after being relegated to non-contact training due to a jaw problem.

The 22-year-old midfielder recently signed a new-deal with the club taking him through to 2015, with the club having the option of a further year.

Gobern could return to the side on Wednesday as Mark Robins is expected to field a full strength Huddersfield Town senior side.
