CHRIS ATKINSON has joined Tranmere on a window to window loan deal that will see the Huddersfield midfielder play in league one until January 2nd.

The 21-year-old has been out on successful loan spells in previous seasons, spending part of last seasons campaign with Chesterfield, where he impressed notching 5 goals in 15 appearances.

Atkinson has also spent time at Darlington in 2011 making 15 appearances.

Tranmere will be the third loan spell away from his home town team. Atkinson has a total of 44 appearances under his belt, with 6 goals to his name.

Manager Mark Robins, speaking to htaafc.com about the move:-

“Chris enjoyed a similar loan in League 2 with Chesterfield during the opening stages of last season and we believe the step up to League 1 will once again improve him further as a footballer. I have a good relationship with Ronnie Moore having played under him at Rotherham and I know that he will help develop Chris` skills.’

Good luck to Chris, I am sure he will get plenty of playing time & goals!
