LEE Clark has moved quickly to quash rumours of a 1.75 million pound bid from Norwich City for Anthony Pilkington.

Town’s star man, who missed the end of the season with a double leg break, has been the centre of rumours linking him with Stoke, Norwich and Bolton.

It was reported that Norwich had made an offer recently but this has been rebuffed by Terriers boss Clark.

Lee spoke to the examiner and said:-

“There`s been no contact.(from Norwich)”

He`s one of the best players in the Football League and I`m not surprised he`s being linked with Premier League clubs.’

‘The rumours are pretty much inevitable, but the figures being talked about are hugely below our valuation, and the best way to look at them is that they confirm we are doing the right things in signing talented young players and developing them.”

He also added:-

“While he might not be able to start pre-season with the group, I`m confident he`ll be ready for the first league game.”

So Clark expects that Pilkington will be wearing a Town shirt come the first game of the season, and with him being contracted until 2014 it would require a larger bid to prise Town’s key asset away from The Galpharm.

Lets hope Clark is right!

I can cope with Pelts leaving, but if Pilkington went, i think there would be uproar! Hope he stays

If we could get Ward back on loan, I wouldn’t be too upset at selling Pliks.
