HUDDERSFIELD Town fan and chairman Dean Hoyle today paid tribute to defender Lee Peltier and his contribution to the Terriers.

Hoyle spoke to htafc.com:-

Lee has been a fantastic player for the Club during his time here; he has developed and improved and given everything for the team each time he has pulled on the shirt.

Of course we are disappointed to be losing a player of his quality, but that is the nature of football and Leicester matched our valuation for Lee. As one player departs, it creates opportunities for others to shine.

This move gives Lee the chance to progress his career. I’m sure he will be a great success there and I would like to wish him well.’

I think he has it spot on and once a player has decided he wants to go, thats the end of it for me.

Manager Lee Clark also added, again on htafc.com:-

‘I’ve just spoken to Lee and wished him the best of luck. He has been fantastic for me and I think he is a Premier League footballer in the making.

When players perform well opportunities will open up for them and I understand that he wants to play at the highest possible level. He will always be welcome back here to watch our progression, and I’m sure he will take up that opportunity.

This is why I want a strong squad and although Calum Woods wasn’t brought in as a replacement for Lee, we still two quality players fighting for the right back slot when you take into account Jack Hunt’s terrific second-half to last season too. I am happy with what we have in that area.’

I am not so sure about his last comments, Woods was definitely brought here in my opinion as Leicester have been sniffing around Peltier for some time now.

Either way Town have made a tidy profit on a player who has flourished under Lee Clark, now it is time for some new blood to shine, and of course the money means we can go out and strengthen even further.

What do you think?

Have your say.

sensible quotes, obviously disapointing to see him go, I think its a bit of a bargain for Leicester and we perhaps could have got a bit more for him, he is solid and reliable and consistent, what more do you want in a defender

  • deano deano deano says:

Good piece of business, assuming our valuation hadnt changed from the figures quoted earlier in the week.Totaly agree that the writting was on the wall once Callum Woods signed on the dotted line. All we need now is a striker who can score goals.

  • Terrier24 says:

i still think, despite having loads of midfielders, we need better quality Centre mids. none of them do it for me, Roberts and Pilkington are quality but we need better in the middle. Also a left sided centre half, a real nasty character is whats required.. then a striker.

  • Pharmer Giles says:

Got to agree with all of you. Woods signed because Pelts was going. Good profit. Use the money to get a centre back, centre mid then centre forward

  • deano deano deano says:

Thats that sorted out then, anybody for the ropewalk?

  • stinger1974 says:

im very angry he has gone and i dont really care how much money we made. dean hoyle is always saying we dont need to sell our best players. and we wonder why we can get out this division

  • Pharmer Giles says:

We don’t need to sell our best players, but when your best players want to go then get the best money you can for them is what I say

  • deano deano deano says:

    Rhodes and Pilks are next.
