Club Captain Peter Clarke, who is recovering from double hernia surgery, is all set for a practice match bext week as he aims to prove his fitness for a first team recall.
The 30-year-old who played under new boss Simon Grayson at Blackpool was described as ‘Doing well’ in his recovery thus far.
It was confirmed that Clarke has taken part in a couple of training sessions with the rest of the squad and that a practice match would now be scheduled, with the Bury match coming too soon for the former Everton trainee.
Simon Grayson confirmed:-
‘We’ll look to set up a match next week, and it will also help in terms of having a good look at those players who haven’t yet been involved in matches.’
Peter Clarke`s last outing for The Terriers was in the 3-2 home win over Brentford on January 21, six matches ago – whilst Lee Clark was still at the helm.
