Terriers admit FA charge

Huddersfield Town have accepted the FA charge imposed after the home win against Crystal Palace, but will seek a personal hearing.

Huddersfield won the match 1-0 courtesy of a James Vaughan goal on 65 minutes but the game was marred with a melee in the tunnel post-match.

Palace boss Ian Holloway was incensed with a challenge by Alan Lee on Mile Jedinak, which left the Palace player with a broken nose and fractured cheekbone, that required surgery.

However video replays showed that the challenge was fair, and Alan Lee has not been charged by the FA after they concluded the very same.

Town Caretaker manager Lillis said at the time “Jedinak had a great game. I`ve seen his eye and it wasn`t very good, so I wish him a speedy recovery. The whole Club – the staff, players, everyone – send their regards to him and hope he`s back quickly.”

However Ian Holloway has continued to use his columns in the media and in several interviews to claim no one at Huddersfield has apologised and questioned Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle at the time on how he can celebrate a win after what had happened to Jedinak.

Crystal Palace were also charged under FA Rule E20 (a) – failure to ensure that its players/officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

Huddersfield’s personal hearing will see the club explaining the mitigating circumstances that ensued post-match.
