Huddersfield Town enter a third week still searching for a manager, with the latest name thrown into the hat being Nicky Butt, the ex-Manchester United midfielder.

Butt, who is yet to take up a managerial appointment is rumoured t have applied and had talks with Town chairman Dean Hoyle.

However with numerous stories popping up all the time, should this story be taken with a pinch of salt?

Te board have set out the clear search parameters as the following 3 points.

1) Acceptance to work within a lower end Championship budget
2) A track record of developing young players
3) Work Ethic & Drive to succeed & a track record of winning matches.

The points revealed would seemingly rule Butt and many others with no managerial experience out of the running.

However this is Huddersfield Town and if someone shows the passion for developing players and accepts the budget, and has the drive and work ethic we are looking for, would the board overlook the track record of winning matches?

Mark Robins recently moved to mute any possible move to the Terriers, stating he is staying at Coventry City, unless the board say differently.

Graeme Jones remains the favourite with the bookies this morning, however as with Nicky Butt, surely he fails point 3!

Nigel Adkins is still high up on the list of favourites, but with murmurs he has said he wants time out, and speculation that he is technically on gardening leave from Southampton, pending a compensation package mean a move for the number 1 choice is staring to look unlikely to happen.

This all makes for good press & speculation, but I like most would like to see an appointment, or a decision to give Mark Lillis the job until the season end, to bring stability to the club as we battle to retain our Championship status.
