Huddersfield are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Sean Scannell and David Wagner in the Huddersfield win over Birmingham on Saturday was enough to earn a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Scannell and Wagner, as the boss, was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the Football League blurb read.

Firstly on Scannell.

‘A first win in seven games for Huddersfield came at Birmingham City, and the creativity of Scannell was the key to victory.

‘The winger’s low cross was converted by Joe Lolley to give the Terriers the lead after 31 seconds, and another driving run down the right resulted in Nahki Wells sealing all three points.’

And the boss Wagner.

‘David Wagner recorded his first win as Huddersfield Town head coach, guiding his side to the aforementioned win at St Andrew’s.

‘The German had seen positives from their two previous defeats – against Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough – and it was third time lucky as they returned to West Yorkshire with the three points.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Scannell for his recognition, and Wagner as his boss, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the Huddersfield win.

Full Team – Dimi Konstantopoulos (Middlesbrough), Scott Malone (Cardiff City), Matt Mills (Nottingham Forest), Grant Hanley (Blackburn Rovers), Nedum Onuoha (Queens Park Rangers), Solly March (Brighton & Hove Albion), Jack Price (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Alan Judge (Brentford), Sean Scannell (Huddersfield Town), Chris Wood (Leeds United), Will Keane (Preston North End).

Manager – David Wagner (Huddersfield Town).
