Rekeil Pyke has returned from his loan spell at Wrexham having made three appearances, one start and two as substitute in the Vanarama National League.

Pyke’s spell at Wrexham was disrupted by an ankle injury, where he missed the FA Trophy game with Tranmere.

Pyke made his debut vs Lincoln City as a starter, as Wrexham lost the game 1-0. He then made his second appearance as a half time substitute against Macclesfield, a game Wrexham would go on to lose 3-0. Having then missed the Tranmere fixture, Pyke returned on the bench featuring as a substitute for the final half hour against Sutton United, again Wrexham on the wrong side of a 1-0 scoreline.

Pyke was an unused substitute on Boxing Day where Wrexham finally won 1-0 to end a six game winless streak.

It would be fair to say that both Town and Pyke would have perhaps expected more playing time and possibly goals during this first loan spell away from The Terriers but at 19, Pyke still has plenty of time on his side.

He now returns to Huddersfield Town in preparation for Frankie Bunn’s Development side whose next fixture is on 9th January at Sheffield United.
