David Wagner proclaimed ‘I Love Boxing Day’ after seeing his Huddersfield Town side cement 4th place in the Championship table by beating Nottingham Forest by two goals to one.

Wagner in his native Germany would ordinarily enjoy this festive period at home as would quite a number of his squad with the festive break enjoyed in the German league, however Wagner is proving a hit in English football with 2 wins from 2 giving him a Boxing day double of victories – Last season Town defeated Preston 3-1 in front of 14,697.

Huddersfield are of course swelled in numbers off the field with 22,100 watching this seasons Boxing Day victory and Wagner claims that his Huddersfield Town side are ‘still hungry and greedy’

Wagner of course rejected advances from Wolfsburg last week as he is loving life at Huddersfield and speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post he said:-

‘We still have space to improve both individually and as a group. We have been together for five months and we have another five months to go.

‘I have won both matches on Boxing Day since I have been here. The fans in England want football at Christmas and this is different to Germany but I like it. ‘I think I will have to stay for a long time!’

For sure Terriers fans will hope Wagner does stay for a long time with all the success he has brought to the club in such a short period of time.
