ONE In & One out at this stage but Town fans were still expecting another arrival after the news of Murray Wallace’s deal filtered through.

Town fans cried for a winger, due to the current injury situation, and the sale of Donal McDermott.

A vast array of names were banded around by fans on forums and twitter alike.

The man who was to sign, subject to international clearance, would be Salford born striker Kallum Higginbotham.

The striker has been playing ‘in-the-hole’ for Falkirk this season a role that Lee Novak has been employed in recent weeks and one that many fans expected McDermott to fill.

Manager Lee Clark discussed the signing with htafc.com:-

‘Kallum plays naturally in the number 10 role – as the second striker, who offers the link with the midfield. He has a great change of pace and an eye for a pass; he can make and score goals.

‘I felt we needed a player who can play in that role naturally. Lee Novak has done well in that position recently, but he is an out-and-out striker by trade and Kallum will naturally get himself into those good positions behind the main front man.

‘We have had our eye on him for some time but I went to watch Falkirk’s recent Cup semi-final against Celtic recently. Murray Wallace was playing and did very well, but on that afternoon Kallum was the stand-out player on the pitch.

‘He can come in and make an immediate impact for us – we think very highly of him.

‘I’m delighted with the make-up of the squad. We’ve made two acquisitions today; Kallum can make an immediate impact, whereas Murray is one for the future. I also believe that as we progress these two players can move up with us.’

So will this see Town employ a slight variation on their system for at least a few weeks?

With Gary Roberts out for 3-6 weeks, Danny Ward doubtful after picking up a knock last weekend & the sale of Donal McDermott that leaves only Danny Cadamarteri as 100% fit out & out winger.

What do you think.
