Young centre half Danny Kane has this week received his maiden call up to the Republic of Ireland Under 21 squad in recognition of his continued development.

The 19 year old Development Squad defender has been called in their Under 21 squad for the first time for their fixtures this month again Czech Republic and Slovakia, and both matches take place at the La Manga training centre in Spain.

Kane can also feature as a right back and he has previously been capped at Under 19 level for Eire, winning four caps previously – the last of which coming in November 2015.

His country also named him the Under 17 Player of the Year back in March of last year, and this season he has been a regular in our Under 23 set up under Senior Professional Development Coach Frankie Bunn, making seven starts and one substitute appearance.
