Huddersfield Town are set to complete a second transfer from Scottish First Division side Falkirk this evening, with the signing of striker Kallum Higginbotham for an undisclosed 6 figure fee.

Kallum is set to sign a contract until the summer of 2014 and is expected to take the vacant number 27 shirt at the Club, pending confirmation of international clearance.

He of course follows hot on the heels of teammate Murray Wallace by completing a permanent transfer to the Terriers ahead of the closing of the January 2012 transfer window.

Kallum began his football career at non-league Salford City, but joined Oldham Athletic as an 18 year-old. After playing extensively for the Latics’ youth and reserve sides he moved again to join local neighbours Rochdale in 2007.

He played 38 games on the wing in League 2 during the 2007/08 season for Rochdale but finished the season on loan at Accrington Stanley.

Falkirk snapped him up in the summer of 2010 after his contract expired at Dale.

A good debut season saw Kallum linked with moves to Rangers & Celtic as well as English sides Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town.

Town have moved quickly to secure the deal and we still await international clearance.

Kallum is in familiar company with Scott Arfield and Murray Wallace on his way too.

Welcome to the club Kallum!
