The Adam Pearson factor refuses to go away just yet.
But as Derby County and Pearson enter the World of a potential premiership investigation, maybe we should be more thankful for Ken Davy.
£50m was the much quoted sum available to launch Derby County as ‘a global brand’, but unanswered questions remain.
It is unclear who actually owns the club.
The chairman when the deal was done was Adam Pearson.
Who says the president of General Sports and Entertainment (GSE), Andy Appleby, now owns 93 per cent of the club ‘on behalf of GSE’.
However, Appleby states that ‘GSE will be managing the investment of the USA consortium they have brought together, who the members of that consortium are remains unclear.
If the Premiership enforces its own rules, their identity will have to be made clear.
Now call me suspicious mister old cynic.
But when owners and Chairman cannot even agree on who owns a club, something is wrong.
It is also uncertain how much of the £50m headline figure for the takeover will be invested in the Rams.
GSE is thought to have paid around £20m to buy the club from the outgoing shareholders. However, it is not clear whether the company has paid off the debts the club was already carrying, thought to be over £20m. Takeover figures now commonly include debts, even if they have been taken on rather than paid off,
It could be that only £10m is available to spend on players to return to the Premiership following relegation.
It will be interesting for all not least for terriers fans, to find out who is actually behind them.
Rams fans must also want to know how much money is actually available.
Money, and business is an increasingly murky and not always as it seems world in football these days.
What was that other fellows name, Yes I remember now, it was Rubery.

Some chairmen are in the game because they love football, others and these days there are a lot of them are only in it for money.
All Davy needs to do is to totally seperate, clearly the Giants from the terriers, and be more open about things.
How many of us were up for seeing the back of ken davy (mr burns)when the apparently genuine mr pearson dangled the the carrott !!!! Maybe we should eat humble pie and be grateful for what we have..Better the devil you know as they say!!!…I reckon we’d do better to leave the boardroom politics to those who have the facts and concentrate our efforts on getting firmly behind the team …UP THE TOWN…(and mr burns)

I agreee with all of you there is too much lets not tell the fans mentality at a lot of clubs be more open and honest people will trust you a tad more then!!

nothings ever going to change my opinion on davy, more money=more and better players=success, remember-footballs a money game now unfortunatly
Rubery had loads of cash, and left the club in a right state, a lot more to it than money as far as a good chairman is concerned. Money is important but its not the whole picture. imo
Yeah money is important but you have to be smart with it and as everyone know speculate to accumulate!!!!
