Huddersfield Town earlier this afternoon confirmed the signing of Norwich City’s Alex Pritchard.

The 24 year old has signed for an undisclosed fee – reported to be £10million – and he has signed a contract keeping him at the John Smith’s Stadium until the summer of 2021.

Huddersfield also hold a further year’s option on him in our favour.

The midfielder has chosen the number 21 shirt for the remainder of the season.

Speaking to the Official Site head coach David Wagner said of the deal.

‘I`m very happy to be able to welcome Alex to Huddersfield Town. He is exactly the type of player that we like to work with at this Club. Alex is a young, British player who arrives as one of the top performers in the Sky Bet Championship and with a desire to prove himself in the Premier League. Now we will work hard with him to give him every possibility of being a success for us in the top division. I`d like to thank Dean Hoyle and the Board for being as supportive as ever in this transfer window and making this transfer possible.’

In his first interview since joining the club, Pritchard said he felt it was the perfect place for him to be.

‘I`m happy to get it over the line and join Huddersfield Town; it`s been a while since I`ve wanted to play in the Premier League and now my chance has come. I think Huddersfield Town will be the right club. I`ve spoken to the Head Coach a couple of times now, the way they play football and with the togetherness of the team, I think it`s the perfect fit for me.’
