‘Boothy has responded well to treatment, but tomorrow’s game is just too soon for him,’ said Peter Jackson.

While Booth will look to play in Wednesday afternoon’s Reserve clash with Stoke at the Galpharm. Jackson hopes Worthington, who has had groin surgery, will also play.

Town’s travelling fans will hope to see Paul Hayes get off the mark this weekend

The Barnsley loan striker made a promising debut in last week’s 2-1 home defeat by Crewe.

Jackson believes the value of a full week’s training with his new teammates will be evident in the East Midlands, where the usual 20,000-plus crowd is anticipated.

While Holdsworth and Danny Schofield are both back after bans for the League I trip to the City Ground, Taylor-Fletcher is ruled out by a one-match suspension (for reaching five bookings) and Booth by his calf muscle injury.

Jacko, eyeing a sixth away victory, insists that a win will keep alive Town’s hopes of making the play-offs.

‘We’ll keep trying to make the top six as long as it’s possible,’ he said. ‘There’s a lot for us to play for, and it’s a match we’re looking forward to.

‘While Fletch will be a big miss for us, we’ve got two quality players back again, and having created plenty of chances in recent matches, we need to start taking them.

‘We’ve played well in our last two away games (the 1-1 draw at Bristol City and 3-2 win at Rotherham), and we can do well at Forest if we take the game to them.’

At 33 this was always gonna be the case with Booth, we need more striking cover, We will have Beckett n Hayes upfront and McAliskey on the bench, who jacko wont use.
