Theo Robinson has had his loan spell at Millwall cut short after suffering a knee injury and he could well face surgery, effectively ending his loan spell.

Robinson who has been in fine form for Millwall has travelled back to Huddersfield to see the club specialist.

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett spoke to Millwall’s official site about the injury:-

We have a few strikers out at the moment,’ said Kenny, ‘And Theo has been sent back to Huddersfield to be assessed, but it looks like he will need a cartilage operation.

The specialist he sees will have the final decision, but that’s our assessment anyway. They will have a look next week and decide.

If that is the case, it looks like it will take him beyond the end of his loan spell on 11th December. We’ve known about his injury for a while now, so we’ve been looking to bring someone in but it’s an expensive position.

There aren’t a lot of strikers of proven quality around, but we’ll see.’

A shame for Theo, his medical will be a bit harder to pass if he was hoping for a January switch to the Den.

Good luck in recovery Theo.

i would imagine Millwall are still paying his wages till december

  • Impact says:

Depends. I think if we’ve asked to treat him ourselves then we will be paying them.

If they “had known about his injury for some time”,why play him into the ground? Paying his wages till Dec would be the least they should do!
