HTFC – McCombe Vs McCombe?

BOOM BOOM McCombe’s could be set to face each other for the first time in a competitive match since their league careers took off!!

Brothers Jamie and John, if selected, will lineup against each other in Tuesday night’s Carling Cup tie.

Port Vale’s John McCombe and Ex-Huddersfield Town defender told Port Vale’s official site he was looking forward to the prospect of facing his brother:-

‘I currently live in Huddersfield so a lot of my friends and neighbours are Town fans, so it is a really big game.

‘I have spoken to him (Jamie) a bit about the game, but I will definitely be making a few more phone calls this week if we get one over on them!’

They have been in the play-offs the last two years, the semi-final and then the final this year. They were unlucky last season because I think they went something like 27 games unbeaten.

‘I am sure they are aiming for the automatic positions this year and they are all geared up for promotion.

‘They have lost a few key players in Lee Peltier and Anthony Pilkington this summer, but they have obviously strengthened with four or five coming in.’

He is not wrong about losing Pelts and Pilks but as we all know we have 8 new signings this summer!

One thing is for sure it is a game you would expect Town to win comfortably.
