HAPPY HUDDERSFIELD TOWN DAY!

April the 12th is a significant day in the club’s history and so has been dubbed ‘Huddersfield Town Day’

On this day in 1926, we became the first Club in history to win the English Football League Championship three years in succession thanks to a 3-0 home victory over Bolton Wanderers at Leeds Road courtesy of goals from record appearance holder Billy Smith, outside forward Alex Jackson and future Town manager Clem Stephenson.

The legendary Herbert Chapman steered Town to the first two Championships in 1924 and 1925, but Cecil Potter was in charge on this day – Herbert departed for Arsenal prior to the start of the 1925/26 season.

To this day only three clubs have replicated Town’s achievement; Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Club and fans have been tweeting #HappyHuddersfieldTownDay to try and get it trending on Twitter – help us out! Tweet now!
