Out-Of-Contract at the end of the season but Simon Grayson belives Gary Roberts can be a major influence on Huddersfield Town’s end of season run-in.

Roberts, 27, was signed by Stan Ternent and has gone on to be a major part of the Huddersfield Town team under Lee Clark and it seems that Simon Grayson shares that same view.

The left-footed Liverpudlian was named in the top 10 of the League One Player Of the Year nominated by other managers, an accolade that Jordan Rhodes won (obviously)

Roberts is also a clear fan favourite at The Galpharm Stadium and now that he is fully recovered from Hernia surgery we should expect to see more of him soon.

Simon Grayson spoke about his thoughts on Roberts to the examiner:-

“When I first arrived, Gary was just returning after surgery on a hernia,”

“He started my first match against Exeter, but I decided he`d returned that little bit too soon, and I think he would agree.

“We`ve had to be a bit careful with him, which is why he`s been on the bench, but he`s looking nice and sharp now.

“Gary has some great qualities – he wants the ball, he can keep it, and he can use it well – and he can be a big part of what we`re trying to do.”
