When most hear the name ‘Gerrard’ they’ll automatically, and probably understandably, think Liverpool’s ‘Steven Gerrard’ but Huddersfield’s former Everton and Cardiff man Anthony Gerrard is another!
Anthony’s cousin Steven might be the more famous of the Gerrard’s, and always will be, and has had the far greater success – winning more than 100 caps for England and collecting silverware but Anthony’s been a good footballer in his own right but his Huddersfield career could be winding down….
Like the Liverpool man the 28-year-old, still several years his cousin’s junior, could be heading to the MLS for next season with the Daily Mail reporting that among those showing an interest in the will be free agent this summer are Orlando with the defender also ‘interested in moving Stateside’ with ‘a few franchises’ interested in him.
A calf injury caused him to miss the start of the season and despite returning to the first-team recently he has ‘hinted’ that he could see his future elsewhere – a family affair in America then?
