Calling all Huddersfield Fans

I have been going to games for as long as I can remember now. I got my first season ticket at Leeds Road. I looked forward to every Saturday for the great atmosphere and the buzz of a matchday.

Then we moved to the then McAlpine stadium, I got my seat from the builders plan, Super Spot in the Kilner Bank. Row NN seat 104, great view good atmosphere. Always a laugh and a joke and lots of Town based songs/chants.

Then as I take my younger brother with me decided to move to the Riverside Lower Tier. He enjoys the games as I did. The only diffrence here is the songs/chants seem to dissapear!

So my call is what do you think we should do about it?? Were not all shy are we? We must make our voices heard.

Maybe the club should issue a song/chant sheet? Perhaps drawn up at the supporters meetings?

Well what do you think we should do? Any chants you would like to see back?

We need to sack the guy in the middle. The guy who reads the names, may seeem unfair but he dusnt provide that “umphhh” that we need.We need some proper songs and a paid physco to shout into the microphone !

I think you could have a point there he really doesn’t do anything for us does he?!

  • YorkshireTerrier08 says:

  • Terrier24 says:

Paul Clarke..hes on the radio met him at kingsgate once when the team was down there. Was there and then he owned up.Well when i was talking to Dean he said he wanted to create an atmosphere that town have never had, songs where fans rock and sing along to,a real roar when the team come out and to get someone new in to read the names out.Someone who can get the crowd cheering and provide a bit of banter to the away fans.

Yeah! We need a big kick up the proverbials! Hopefully Ternent is the man to do it!

I think one of the final nails in the coffin of singing demise happened a good few years ago when our friend with the red and yellow cards(remember him) got himself “sent off”(lol),what a carachter he was(is)…It got even worse he then tried to re-invented himself in the panasonic stand as part of some dire, out of tune ,out of touch, cobbled together brass band disaster, that only suceeded in stiffleing and drowning out the last embers of enthusiasm from the then singing faithfull.
Give him his cards back and a free season ticket, and offer the same package to all the other budding excentrics out there who are willing to stand up and make some noise (vocal that is/no more massed instruments please)Shame that legislation managed to put an end to all the toys we used to have along with our friends cards..Remember the rattles and horns..??? Ave it…There’s more to atmosphere in a ground than meets the eye,its a combination of essential elements, for example,we used to practice our songs to perfection in the pubs,on the coaches and trains too and from away matches,on the streets, and outside the ground(s) long before they were sung in the ground…Songs aren’t spontanious, neither is the atmosphere, its brought to the ground,it doesnt start in it…Other fans join in after a few chorouses from a nucleous of faithfull stallworts who have put hours of time and effort into them…Atmosphere starts in the pubs, and the ques and crowds outside the ground..Its not canned, and opened up by some mc in the middle of the pitch at 2.50pm..

On the other side of the coin a team of players who are prepared to give it their ALL for the FANS,win, loose,or draw, are also ESSENTIAL…
Without a dedicated team, there’s no base for long term dedicated(enthusiastic) support…
Looks like were up for it this season (fans)the whole town is starting to buzz again…With a new start(manager + director),a fresh injection of funds, and with a centenary to celebrate, this is going to be the best chance to put things right weve had for years..HOPE YOUR LISTENING DEANO AND MR BURNS…THE BALLS IN YOUR COURT…!!!!! WORK WITH US…!!!! GIVE US A TEAM TO SHOUT ABOUT… !!!! ONE WITH PASSION AND COMMITMENT…
