Huddersfield secured a 2-1 win over Norwich in the Championship on Friday.

Elias Kachunga’s double at Norwich secured Huddersfield’s third win of in a week to – albeit temporarily – take us up to 3rd. A Reading win meant they reclaimed this spot but Town sit pretty in 4th.

Kachunga headed Huddersfield into a fifth minute lead but Norwich were level a little over a minute later when Jonny Howson scored.

Shortly before half time Kachunga – with the help of a deflection off Norwich defender Sebastien Bassong – restored the lead and ultimately sealed the three points.

David Wagner said he was very proud of the performance with the three points deserved.

The Huddersfield boss was quoted post-match by BBC Radio Leeds as saying.

‘We wanted to be confident and play with our identity. We were very strong in the first half and I think we deserved the three points. When you play Norwich away there will be hard moments but we were lucky and I’m very proud.’

Adding.

‘Kasey Palmer was outstanding tonight. His work with and without the ball was class. This was a great week and I’m giving the players tomorrow off! It’s important they spend time with their families around Christmas.’
