The Terriers drop points at home

Bristol Rovers left the Galpharm Stadium with a point, possibly thinking they should have had all three.

The stats don’tlie and with 9 efforts on target to Town’s 1, perhaps they should!

Huddersfield had Matt Glennon to thank for keeping the Gas to just the one goal, he pulled off several good saves to gain Town a point.

Glennon did have one moment of madness where he misjudged the ball’s pace and showed us all his Superman impression, but had a very good game.

Town took the lead through Mike Flynn’s 7th minute strike to send the Town fans into raptures. It was Flynn’s 5th goal of the season and had the feel good factor that Town would kick on for a good home performance and win for only the second time at home.

However it was not to be as Rickie Lambert fired an equaliser for The Pirates 8 minutes after the break, Good work down the left flank, where Joe Skarz was troubled all day, lead to a cross into the box and a cool finish from 8 yards which Glennon had no chance with.

The Town players were visibly deflated and Bristol went on and had several chances to ein the game.

Ternent made changes but it was all too little too late, as all of Towns shape, possesion and momentum had vanished. There was no urgency to get the ball into the box in the final minutes and he team, rightly or wrongly, were again booed from the field of play.

Full time 1-1

Player Ratings

Glennon 8
One moment where he showed his superman impression, totally misjudging the ball but kept us in the game. Motm

Goodwin 6
Some good crosses put in, tried hard but was found wanting today.
Awarded the sponsor motm and looked as shocked as the fans- didnt deserved to be booed for it

Skarz 5
Out of his depth today – repeatedly beaten, at fault for Bristols equaliser, and his distribution was amiss today – hopefully just an off day

Butler 7
Looked Solid as ever – improving

Clarke 7
Why the throw-ins have been taken away from him only Stan knows, forming a good understanding with Butler

Roberts 6
In and out of the game, needs to get more involved

Jones 6
Flashes of what a good player he is but anonymous for the majority of the game. Why sign a striker and play him on the right wing??

Flynn 6
Cracking goal, but again faded from the game – worked hard

Worthington 6
Subbed off – worked hard as usual but gave the ball away too often

Craney 6
Looking better but another who faded today

Dickinson 5
Came up against a team who had done their homework on him. totally marked out of the game and nothing came off today for him

Williams 7
Booed when he came on – you know who you are. Loooked to play football and was composed at left back

Parker 5
Did he touch the ball?
Anonymous, didn’t create anything

Manager Rating
Stan Ternent 4 – angered fans with his post match comments about champagne football for beer money. Has this guy lost it? Did he ever have it?

Opponent Rating
Paul Trollope 7 – His team looked sharper and the more likely to win the game as it wore on. Will be happy with a point but will feel he should have had all 3

Stan Ternent
After the game said:-

‘we might be classed as having champagne tastes on beer money.’

Is this aimed at the Town fans?

I should think not, its disgusting. I thought Stan was OK but I have taken an instant dislike…….see my comments on forums….Agree Goodwin shouldnt have been booed, putting his shirt over his head in shame said a lot for him, not his fault the person who chose it misinterpreted the signals from his/her guide dog!!
