A beautiful sunny day In Huddersfield saw The Terriers grab their first 3 points of the season at The Galpharm today.

Town started lively with several chances going begging, but it was Northampton who struck first through Guttridge, although it has been credited as a Goodwin Og.
Matt Glennon was horribly indecisive and was left in no mans land as the ball looped over him and into the unguarded net.
Northampton soon after had a penalty appeal turned away by referee Webster, much to the delight of the Town faithful and Stan.

So it was Andy Booth who drew the Terriers level on 34 minutes with a scrappy, but much needed goal.

Half Time
Huddersfield 1-1 Northampton

Huddersfield started the second half strongly as Northampton faded.
A penalty appeal was turned down on 52 minutes, with Ref Webster deeming Crowe’s challenge on Skarz ‘above board’

The Town faithful only had 12 minutes to wait to take the lead as Flynny scored placing his shot past the keeper into the far corner.

It looked like there was only one team in it at this stage and although it was not a convincing performance Town soon added a third through Michael Flynn again!

Flynn’s long range effort went straight through Chris Dunn in the cobblers net and trickled over the line.

Northampton had late chances to get back into the game with sub Constantine lobbing Glennon but his effort landed on top of the net.

There was time for another Northampton sub to get on the score sheet Liam Davis heading home in the 91st minute.

This set up a frantic last few minutes but Town held on and were greeted with applause at the final whistle.

Player Ratings

Glennon 5
Was out of position and at fault for both goals today, looked shaky and like he had never met his teammates before today!

Goodwin 7
Looked solid at right back, put in some testing crosses, but may struggle against better opposition

Skarz 6
First start of the season for Skarz, but like Unsworth and Williams had no support when defending, was caught out often in the first half.

Butler 7
Looked solid on his return to the side.

Clarke 7
Again looked solid and no classic ‘Hoof’ moments today

Flynn 8
Solid player who grabbed two goals, with his second proving to be the winner.

Craney 6
Put himself about, missed two glorious chances in the first half, needs to improve to keep his place

Roberts 7
Twinkle toed today and put in several testing crosses and corners.

Worthington 7
Did the dirty work cleanly and didnt get booked!

Dickinson 7
Looked fitter and sharp although his fancy flicks didn’t always work for the one speed Boothy

Boothy 7
First game back from injury and looked his usual self, winning everything and scoring a goal!

Parker 6
Didn’t have long to make an impact but put in another lively performance.

Manager Rating
Stan Ternent 7
After last weeks embarrasing showing Stan has got the team back on track. Some interesting decisions today but we got the three points

Opponent Rating
Stuart Gray 5
Despite scoring an early goal and having a penalty appeal turne down straight after, Gray had no answer as Town went on to win, comfortably but not convincingly
