Academy Graduate Jimmy Spencer has joined League One side Brentford this week on loan for a month.

The Terriers youngster has been pushed down the pecking order with the arrival of Jermaine Beckford and the loan spell will provide him with some much needed game time and further enhance his development.

Spencer has played just twice for the Terriers but enjoyed a successful loan spell with Cheltenham last season, scoring 10 goals in 27 League Two appearances.

The spell with Brentford in League One will be a step up in quality for the youngster.

Jimmy spoke to Brentfords official site about the move:-

“Brentford are a top club in League One. I am here to get game time and score goals. I made a decision that I did not want to go back to League Two. I needed a new challenge. League One was the next step, Brentford came along and I was happy to join.”

It is reported that Brentford fought off competition from other League one & two sides to Spencers loan signature and it is expected that he will make his debut this weekend.
