Midfielder Adnan Ahmed, a graduate of the Town Academy released by Town at the end of the season, has today signed a two-year deal with League One rivals Tranmere Rovers.

Ahmed, 22, is the first of the seven players released at the conclusion of the 2006/07 season to find a new club.

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore told Tranmere’s official website, ‘Adnan is a great addition to the squad. He’s an enthusiastic and talented young midfielder who can win the ball and pick out a pass’.

Adnan, who only featured ten times for the Town first-team last season, was also understandably happy to get fixed up so soon.

”This is a new challenge for me and I can’t wait for next season. Tranmere seems a really positive place and it seems like the Club for me.’
