Latics Vs Terriers

Huddersfield cross the pennines for a war of the roses, and will take with them an army of fans for Oldhams highest attendance of the season so far (cup final?)
Huddersfield will go into the game buoyed by the win against Northampton, and hopefully if we get a good start we will be singing all the way home.

However Oldham are the form team and top the table at the moment, and they remain unbeaten at home!

Can The Terriers come out on top?

Vital Quotes:

Oldham stopper Mark Crossley told the Manchester Evening news ahead of the game on Saturday:

‘It is a big blow losing Sean who has been in tremendous form as well as being our leader, but we have a strong squad and whoever comes in will do a good job.’

‘Our confidence is sky high and we are going into games believing we can win every one.’

Stan Ternent was also in good spirits ahead of the game and he told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner:-

It won`t be easy over there, but it`s a derby and the kind of game professional footballers should relish being involved in.

I`m certainly looking forward to it, and if we play as I know we can and do it for the full 90 minutes, there`s no reason why we can`t be the first team to beat Oldham.

Oldham Athletic Team News:

Sean Gregan is suspended following his red card at the weekend in a thrilling 3-3 draw away at Hartlepool

Player to watch: Chris Taylor

The tricky winger has impressed again this season, this has seen several bigger clubs sniffing about, looking to take him to a higher league, Blackpool and Doncaster have been the latest clubs to be watching Taylor.

Now its the turn of the Town Right back, be it Goodwin or Holdsworth, they will have to be more than watching him.

Huddersfield Town Team News:

Andy Booth, Lucketti and Cadamarteri are all doubtful for the game.

But we have a good squad, (of midfielders) ,to choose from.

Stan Ternent looks set to name a 4-5-1 formation but you never know what the master tactician is thinking!

Player to watch: Liam Dickinson

‘The Dick’ has had his stay at Huddersfield extended and looks likely that he will be a lone front man on Saturday, luckily Gregan is missing for the Latics!
