Manager Peter Jackson confidently states, Chesterfield will face a massive challenge tomorrow to keep Andy Booth and Luke Beckett quiet.

‘They played excellently together in our win at Bournemouth and they present a big challenge to the centre-backs who happen to be marking them. If you are a visiting player or manager and you see Booth and Beckett on the teamsheet, you know you’re in for a tough game,’

Which does beg the question, why then havent they both been on the team sheet ? with the manager recently preferring the option of one upfront.
Beckett’s been on the subs bench 9 times and started 15 of this seasons league games, and Booth & Beckett have only started 7 times together from the 29 games.
Perhaps the sale of Abbott to rivals Swansea has something to do with this newfound enthusiasm for the strike pairing.

Jackson continues ‘Both of them will be hungry to do well and for us to win and, if we can pick up maximum points from these next two home games then it will keep our season well alive.’

Jackson has added Nathan Clarke and Adnan Ahmed into the senior squad and the only players excluded are injured Tom Clarke and newly transfer-listed Mark Hudson.

‘We have to take one game at a time and, for the last few seasons at the Galpharm, Chesterfield have been one of our bogey sides, so we have to put an end to that,’ added the manager.

‘Our home form has started to pick up – particularly the last couple of performances – and we want to keep that going, showing all the character and strength we know we’ve got.
Chesterfield are a bit up and down, but they have had some excellent results this season, especially against Premiership sides in the Carling Cup, and we’ll need to work hard to get the result.
The big danger is probably Caleb Folan. There has been a lot of Premiership interest in him and I’m a bit surprised he hasn’t moved on, but he has improved vastly over the last two years and he can be a real handful on his day.’

Additionally, Jackson, was today set to make a decision on Hungarian trailist Zoltan Liptak.
