Huddersfield are set to welcome David Mirfin back to familiar territory, but will hope to send him back to his new home dissapointed, as Huddersfield entertain high flying Scunthorpe today at the Galpharm.

Lee Clark is expected to make changes following the dissapointing 3-0 away defeat at Carlisle, on boxing day.

Rumour is that 3-5-2 could disappear and a more orthodox 4-4-2 being deployed, meaning either Jevons or Cadamarteri could earn a starting slot!

Vital Quotes:

Lee Clark spoke to The Examiner ahead of today’s game, he had this to say :-

“I wasn`t doing summersaults after we beat Hereford, and I`m not slitting my wrists now,”

“We all know this side is far better than that performance.

“We`ve given away three goals and while the second was a touch lucky for Carlisle, we should have defended better with the first and third.’

On Cadamarteri and Jevons he added:-

“They have come on and made an impact in both my games in charge and they`ve certainly played their way into my thoughts,”

David Mirfin told Scunthorpe’s official site ahead of his return to the Galpharm:-

‘I’m looking forward to it, It’s going to be good to go back and see a few familiar faces.’

I kept in touch with a few of the lads so I think I’ll be getting a few more phone calls – probably trying to find out our team!

‘They’ve got a new manager in, Lee Clark, and they’ve got to try to impress him now as well, so it’s going to be a really tough game.

‘From what I’ve heard, he’s going to be quite good. He’s young, has got a lot of motivation and wants to do well. I think it’s going to be good for Huddersfield.

‘It will be weird going in the away changing room and going the other way when we’re going out for the game. But until we’re actually there, I don’t know what it’s going to be like.

‘It would be nice to get a goal, but I’ll try and stop them scoring more than anything else.’

Lets hope he does score! For US!
