Huddersfield Town have handed a trial to former Wigan Athletic defender Markus Holgersson.
The 29 year old defender was released by Wigan at the conclusion of the season having made just one appearance having only joined in February 2014.
Holgersson had joined Wigan after spending time in the states with New York Red Bulls but at 29 looked to a new challenge in England.
Holgersson is currently playing for the Terriers out in Portugal in a pre-season friendly, has he already done enough to earn himself a deal, especially with him being named as opposed to being just a trialist
Either way at 6ft 4 he certainly adds some height to the Town back line, and having played at right back and centre back during a career that has spanned IF Lödde, Landskrona BoIS, Helsingborgs IF, Höganäs BK, Ängelholms FF, Helsingborgs IF, New York Red Bulls & Wigan he adds much needed experience.
He has one full Swedish cap to his name although it came back in 2012 in a 5-0 victory over Qatar, he had made the squad for two previous games before finally earning his current solitary cap to date.
