Higginbotham, out of the door, Again.

MOTHERWELL have taken Kallum Higginbotham on loan for the remainder of the season, after the winger had een training with them since his loan deal at Carlisle expired.

The 23-year-old has struggled, for whatever reason, to break into first Lee Clark’s plans after joining from Falkirk, and the winger is also seemingly deemed surplus to requirements by new gaffer Simon Grayson.

Some rumour that there may be some behind the scenes problems, and with Carlisle terminating his loan deal early and the player away from Town for personal reasons, may be there is some truth.

Whatever the reason it looks likely that his Huddersfield Town career is over, despite having another 18 months to run on his deal.

I fully expect he will be given a free transfer at the conclusion of the season, so the chance is there for him to earn a deal at Motherwell (So long as he can settle in there!)

Higginbotham spoke to Motherwell TV about his move:-

‘I am really pleased and excited to be here and I want to thank Stuart McCall and all the players for making me feel so welcome.

‘Things haven’t quite worked out as well as I would have liked at Huddersfield but with eighteen months left on my deal there, this is a great opportunity to show what I can do at a great club in a strong, competitive league.

‘My aim is to work my way into the first team and hopefully help Motherwell finish as high up the table as possible.’

Good luck to the lad, who undoubtedly has the skill, but just couldn’t show it off with the Terriers
