Duane Holmes could be headed out of the door at Huddersfield, but only for temporary measure.
The American-born midfielder, who has quickly gained an affinity with the Huddersfield Town fans, with a unique chant of USA, USA, USA to be heard at games when the diminutive midfielder is on the pitch.
Holmes has predominantly been used as an impact substitute for The Terriers and has increasingly been involved in recent league & cup competitions.
However at 19, perhaps a spell of first-team football could aid the development of the Academy product.
Town manager Mark Robins spoke to the Huddersfield Examiner:
‘I really believe in Duane’s ability.
‘He is a very good young player who has contributed in a number of games where he has come off the bench and helped change things.
‘Now I want to see him come through strongly, and you look at the situation and think, ‘How is his next progression going to come?’
‘That could be through a spell out on loan, but as with all our players, it has to be right for this club and the individual.’
The loan window has re-opened for all Football League clubs, but Terriers Manager Mark Robins admits there are likely to be more outgoings than incomings at Huddersfield, with a number of squad & fringe players set to move away on-loan
‘We have to get the balance of the squad right in terms of size and we have some people who need games.’
One can only image that the list would include the likes of Anton Robinson, Matt Crooks, Jake Carroll & Jordan Sinnott, with fellow squad members Jon Stead (Oldham) & Chris Atkinson (Bradford) already away from the club on loan deals.
