David Wagner has moved to silence rumours linking him with the vacant Leicester City hit seat after the Foxes parted company with Craig Shakespeare.

The Huddersfield Town boss had emerged as a contender for the position via several bookies odds and rumours on social media as Leicester fans speculate on who will take over at the King Power.

Wagner however was keen for his team to focus on Manchester United and stated that he was not affected by the reports.

“It isn`t a distraction,” Wagner said. “It is nothing that bothers me. I am and will be the manager of this football club.”

The show of loyalty to his employers is a reciprocal one with Huddersfield owner Dean Hoyle already having promised that Wagner would remain in charge whatever the sequences of results this season, as Huddersfield make their Premier League debut.
