Attacking midfielder Izzy Brown arrived at Huddersfield Town on Friday evening and promptly debuted in our FA Cup victory over Port Vale.

The England Under 21 international joins us from Chelsea on a standard half season loan until the summer and the 19 year old brings head coach David Wagner some options as he can play through the middle or on either wing.

He spent the first half of the 2016/17 season out on loan with Rotherham United where he scored three goals in 17 starts and three substitute appearances.

We have handed him the No 37 shirt for his time at the club and Wagner told the Official Site about his capture.

‘Just like his teammate Kasey Palmer, Izzy is another big, big English talent and it is great that Chelsea was so keen to send him to us. Thanks to them for all their help in making this transfer happen so quickly. He is a very exciting attacking player who can make things happen for us in the attacking areas and we are very excited to have join our squad for the rest of the season.’

Wagner went on to say that with injury issues hitting the club in the wide positions with Sean Scannell and Joe Lolley, Izzy provides good cover on that front moving forward and will be a natural increase to the competition we have.

‘We have had a few injury problems in the wide positions, with Sean Scannell needing an operation and Joe Lolley only just returning from injury. Given this, bringing Izzy to the Club is an important January move for us.’

He did of course debut against Port Vale making a start, and got 70 minutes under his belt.
