Gianfranco Zola admits that he will be ‘demanding a lot of his players,” as Watford travel to Yorkshire to face Huddersfield Town.

The Watford boss is looking for an improvement from his side after they dropped points last time out at Blackburn and that was only the second game this season the Hornets have failed to score in.

Zola said “Because of the task we have this year we have to be pushing on the pedal all the time.

“We cannot drop points where we shouldn’t. Therefore we will have to address the game we played the other day. We have to do more.”

However he will have to do without the services of key-man Almen Abdi with Cristian Battocchio & Javier Acuna also doubtful for the game versus Huddersfield. Tommie Hoban and Nyron Nosworthy also remain on the sidelines.

Zola added:-

We need to be more ruthless and make sure that even when we don`t play our best we pick up points.

“Football is unpredictable – it is not always logical. Last year this would have been considered a good moment.

“The team is not happy we lost, we will have something to prove, I rely a lot on that. We`ll try to find that extra edge.”

The game in Yorkshire see’s a first meeting between former manager & player as Jonathan Hogg prepares to line-up against the Hornets for the first time since his £400,000 departure in the summer.

Zola said he was looking forward to the meeting, adding “I`ll be very pleased to shake his hand; it was a pleasure to work with him
