Huddersfield drew with Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship play-off second leg on Wednesday.

Literally nothing could separate Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield as Sunday’s game ended 0-0 with Wednesday’s going to a penalty shootout having finished 1-1 after 90 minutes and nothing changing in extra time – Steven Fletcher had given the Owls the lead on the night before Tom Lees deflected in Nahki Wells’ effort to send the tie into a further 30 minutes.

Without a further breakthrough a shootout was needed. During this Huddersfield’s on-loan Liverpool keeper Danny Ward saved two penalties – from Sam Hutchinson and Fernando Forestieri – sending Town to Wembley as Wednesday reflect again on what might have been after defeat in last season’s final against Hull.
