The Championship season continued with the latest round of games played during midweek.

Brighton’s 3-1 win over Birmingham took Albion back to the top of the Championship on Tuesday but defeat for Fulham saw them lose their place in the play-off to Sheffield Wednesday.

At the other end of the table already relegated Rotherham look as if they’ll be joined by Wigan after a heavy defeat at Ipswich. Despite being thrashed at Preston – who still hold play-off hopes – Bristol City remain a point and a place above Blackburn, in the final relegation spot, after Rovers lost at promotion chasing Reading.

That Brighton lead didn’t last for long as Newcastle’s eventual 1-0 victory over Burton, following penalty-gate, took them back to the top of the table – Huddersfield’s win over Norwich moved them back up to third and to within nine points of Albion with a game in hand.

Here’s the highlights from Championship action.
