Terriers go to Church

SIMON CHURCH has joined Huddersfield Town on an initial one month emergency loan deal from Premier League Reading.

The 23-year-old will remian with the Terriers until December 8th inclusive.

Church is available for Saturday’s trip to Barnsley, if reports are true he snubbed Barnsley to join Town, and will train with the squad today and Friday.

Town have been tracking Church since promotion at Wembley but Reading gaffer Brian McDermott had resisted all approaches, until now.

Church is out of contract in the summer, and should this loan spell go well, then he could earn himself a longer stay that a month at Town.

Church who has been a professional with the Royals since 2007, has featured in 106 matches scoring 21 goals.

He made his first team bow for Reading in May 2009. The striker has had previous loan spells with Crewe, Yeovil, Wycombe and Leyton Orient.
