HUDDERSFIELD Town have been linked with every man and his dog since parting company with Lee Clark on Wednesday 15th February.

A few days have passed and in those we have seen various names like Neil Warnock, Simon Grayson, Billy Davies, Sean O’Driscoll, Mick McCarthy, Steve Bruce, Phil Brown, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Nicky Butt, Peter Reid, Karl Robinson and Eddie Newton all linked amongst others.

There are plenty of managers out there for The Terriers to pick from.

It would seem that Ex-Leeds boss Simon Grayson has shot his way to the top of that list with a reported meeting having taken place earlier this week with Town Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens.

Further rumours are reporting that a meeting also took place today with Grayson meeting Terriers supremo Dean Hoyle.

If all of this is to be true then we could be set for an appointment on Monday or Tuesday this week.

Added to this the suspension of betting by the bookies on who would be the new manager at Huddersfield could mean we are all set to name our man.

So will it be Grayson – or are all these rumours just a curve ball for a surprise appointment.

It’s never dull supporting Huddersfield Town – I am looking forward to next week already!

Whilst some may not want Grayson – you cant deny the fact he has taken BOTH Blackpool & Leeds out of league one on much smaller budgets than Huddersfield. On Paper he has the credentials – He may not have had great success in the Championship but he has guided 2 teams there and then consolidated that position – he left Leeds only 6 points off the champ play offs

I don’t want him. I really don’t. He may have spent less in tranfer with Leeds, but I bet their wage budget was bigger, and the squad he inherited was and is better than ours. You can’t deny he’s a good manager, but we want experience now, not another young manager.

Alright Impact? good to have you back pal. No one is mentioning Curbishley. He’d probably not want to come to league one, but must be worth a phone call surely?

Dont suppose sheff utd wanted Danny Wilson either, but look at them now. This is not about the mans past, its about his ability to get us out of this division.Simon Grayson also has the ability to get us into the premier league.

Nice to be back PG. Curbishley would be fantastic but I really can’t see him wanting to come here. Deano difference there is Wilson has a lot more experience than Grayson. IMO Grayson is only a slight upgrade at best from Clark – they are both in the same ilk. The main difference between them is that Grayson just scraped a promotion, Clark just missed out. I’m also rather intrigued how Grayson getting Leeds promoted 3 years ago means he has the ability to get us into the top flight?

Impact my comment regarding Danny Wilson was a reference to Terrier 24s first sentence in his above posting.Grayson has 2 x promotions under his belt 1 x Blackpool + 1 x leeds. If ive got this right leeds last season were play off contenders for a good proportion of the season. This season they looked to me as if they were cruising towards promotion. That was until bates cashed in on some of his top players recently, and froze him out of the transfer market. As a result leeds understandably suffered a dip in form and dropped to 7th in the table.Had Grayson been able to keep his side intact, and possibly even strengthen his squad then i for one am convinced they would now be coasting their way to the premier league.I agree wholeheartedly that Alan Curbishly would be a great manager for Huddersfield Town, and of course there are indeed others.Im sure we are all in agreement that what we need to do now is act quickly to secure the services of a proven manager. So we can make sure we give ourselves the best possible chance of achieving our goal of promotion with the precious few games that are left.
