Dan Smith the on loan defender from Sunderland is expected to be in the squad for today’s game against a struggling Blackpool side (Galpharm Stadium – KO 3.00 pm). Smith’s inclusion certainly gives Jacko a good few more permutation options, due to his ability to play virtually anywhere on the left side. Nevertheless, I think it unlikely that he will start the game, the bench being the most likely option.

However, Andy Booth is still struggling with his groin strain by all accounts and is likely to sit it out for the 3rd game in a row. GTF and Pav will no doubt continue their up-front pairing with McAliskey once more on the bench.

Meanwhile, Jon Worthington is also back from his 2 match suspension and is available for selection, giving Peter Jackson even more options in midfield.

Blackpool’s new signings, Dean Gordon and Marc Joseph will likely be given starting places in the team. Simon Grayson, the Blackpool boss, also has Rob Edwards (no not that one!) returning from suspension.
