Manager Chris Powell has said he’s looking for victory over Sheffield Wednesday this weekend in the Yorkshire derby.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game tomorrow, Powell called on the team to get the result that we have lacked, despite our recent performances in games.

Of course with the derby atmosphere it would also give us the bragging rights, and that’s something we haven’t had so far this season and that’s also something he wants to see the players address.

‘It will be nice for us to change our Yorkshire derby fortunes in our final one. We have pride in our county and area and it would be nice to have that win over the Easter period. We have one more game to try and get a win in a Yorkshire derby and we will be looking to do that.’

With another disappointing result against Fulham ahead of the international break, Powell again knew there were positives from the performance, and he remains confident that we will get back to winning ways and pick up the results we want between now and the end of the season.

‘We know we need a few results and to buck our trend. Our performances have turned around somewhat, but ultimately you`re judged on results. Kit Symons said that between the 2nd minute and the 96th minute there was only one team in our last game, but what counts is the number next to your name in the result. I would take an ugly performance to get three points. We need to keep that positivity, but we need to grind out some results. It`s that time of the year where I could talk about performances, but it`s about results now.’

With the last game against Wednesday ending in a score less draw, Powell did however say that he was expecting a very similar tight game, but he wanted to see us make more of our chances.

‘It was a game that we had clear cut chances in and they had a shot that hit the bar and the post as well. I`m sure it will be very similar and there will be a lot of passion between the two teams and the fans as well. We will have to be right up for it and get going from the first whistle. On the pitch that they have there, it will be quite a tough game; it will be quite direct. It`ll be a tough game for us.’

As for an injury update following the international break he revealed that Harry Bunn won’t be available for the game as he hasn’t been able to shake the knocks he’s picked up and obviously with his form for us that’s going to be a blow but he might be back for Nottingham Forest.

Jake Charles returned from his international trip with a thigh injury, and although he’s been in light training since he came back and it’s not as serious as the club first thought, it will probably keep him out for the Easter period.

As for Jonathan Hogg and his troublesome hamstring, he explained.

‘It`s been a strange year for Jonathan. He`s been very good for us, but he has picked up some strains here and there and we haven`t been able to get a good run out of him. That`s a shame because he`s a key player in respect to what he does for the team. We miss him when he doesn`t play, but we have to soldier on when he`s not available. I doubt we will see him over the Easter period and it`s a shame.’

New loanee Reece James could be in line for his debut however, as Powell said he’d been very impressive in training and he’s somebody determined to make his mark during this spell.
