Huddersfield Town are constantly being linked with players ever since new chairman Dean Hoyle arrived.

The Terriers have had something of a revolving door when it comes to players in and out under Lee Clark’s tenure to date and the latest paper talk has linked Huddersfield with January moves for Preston striker Iain Hume.

With new chairman – Peter Risdale – at the helm at Preston and the departure of manager Phil Brown earlier this week – Hume himself may be open to the idea of a move to a more stable environment.

Sheffield Wednesday are also said to be tracking Hume, 28, who has netted 6 goals this season in Preston’s disappointing season to date.

A potential make weight in any move could be Jamie McCombe who has joined Preston on a month’s loan from Huddersfield after falling out of favour with Lee Clark following a red card earlier in the season.

Town have also been linked with Stoke City’s Ben Marshall. The winger is currently on loan at league one side Sheffield Wednesday.
