Peter Jackson is looking forward to taking on former team mate Iffy Onuora when Huddersfield play Swindon today.

Jackson and Onuora played in the Huddersfield team together in the early 1990’s but will now be on opposite benches as Onuora is Swindon’s caretaker manager.

Jackson told the Huddersfield Examiner: ‘You make friends with people in football and, when they get transferred, you tend to lose touch, but Iffy and me have always been very close. I can’t tell you some of the things we got up to as players, but we have constantly stayed in touch over the years and I was delighted to bring him back to play a major part in our play-off success. I think an awful lot about him as a person and, now that he’s at the start of his managerial career, I hope results pick up after Saturday and he gets the job permanently.’

Huddersfield aren’t expected to make any team changes to the one that played at Chesterfield. Jackson has a nearly full strength squad to select from. The only players missing are Martin McIntosh, Adnan Ahmed and Lee Fowler who all have knee injuries.

Jon Worthington is serving a one match suspension, so 21 year old Nathan Clarke will be handed the captain’s armband.

Jackson said: ‘Nathan has been excellent for me this season and there will be no prouder man to lead out the team. Having come through the academy, Nathan feels very honoured when he’s captain and no-one will be more determined to get the result we want against Swindon than him.’
