Mendes moves to Grimsby

It has been reported that Junior Mendes, Town’s out of favour striker/winger has joined Grimsby Town on loan until the end of the season when the move is expected to become permanent.

He had been on long term loan at Northampton, scoring 3 goals in 9 games for the Cobblers, but has apparently declined their offer of a permanent contract in favour of the Mariners.

Why someone would refuse a contract offer and risk another loan deal without any guarantees of it being made permanent is anyone’s guess! Is there something we are not being told?
