McCall, calls Huddersfield

Bradford City boss Stuart McCall, has criticised the terriers after the club released details of our top striker Luke Beckett’s proposed move to City.

Details of the Bantams approach for the 31-year-old were published on Huddersfield Towns official website on Wednesday despite the parties concerned having not yet reached a final agreement for the striker.

‘I’m disappointed it’s come out. It puts everyone under pressure with people asking what’s going on,’ McCall said.

‘We went through the right channels before speaking to him. We met the requirements with his club and it’s been a good discussion.

I disagree with McCall on this one, and agree with the club, even though I don’t think we should sell our top scorer of two seasons to a local rival.

Fans are the clubs, no fans no club, why be so secretive about it.

I understand that their are many reasons for clubs not revealing what is going on at a club, but surely the inclusion of the fans and free flow of information, on balance must be better in terms of getting fans to feel involved and valued, than behind the scenes deals done on behalf of supporters.

What are McCall and others with his opinion, so scared of.

Although I doubt this was done by accident by the HTFC, and given recent events I am fearful we may be entering a time of media manipulation at the Galpharm.

Good on the club, I would hate us to return to another ‘veil of secrecy’ era.
