Controversial referee Stuart Attwell will take charge of Easter Monday’s match between Yeovil and Huddersfield Town at Huish Park; 3pm kick off.

The Nuneaton based whistler has not been shy with the cards this season and is perhaps most infamous for his ‘ghost goal’ award during the Watford vs Reading game back in September 2008.

Attwell holds the title of youngest ever Premier League Referee but he was demoted from the Select Group in February 2012, returning to officiate full time in the Football League after a string of mistakes and irate managers with Owen Coyle, Harry Redknapp & Steve Bruce particularly critical after strange decisions involving their teams at the time.

This season has seen Attwell take 34 games under his charge; and he has issued a career high of 105 Yellow Cards and 9 Red Cards, with 43 yellows and 3 reds coming in the SkyBet Championship.

He will be assisted by Adam Hopkins (Devon) and Richard Martin (Weston-Super-Mare) with Richard Hulme taking the role of Fourth Official this afternoon.

Attwells last game involving Huddersfield Town was the FA Cup home defeat to Charlton on 25th Jan 2014, in which Attwell failed to send off Charlton’s Dale Stephens after a shocking challenge on Adam Hammill, Charlton ran out 0-1 winners that afternoon.
