League Position Counts For Nothing

Manager Peter Jackson has spoken ahead of the Bradford City game and said that the league position counts for nothing during games like this.

‘We have two very tough back-to-back home games coming up with Bradford this weekend and Forest next weekend and we need to kick off in the right way. There will be a big crowd and that will generate a great atmosphere and it should be a superb game. There is certainly a lot of pride at stake.

‘They did the double over us last year but confidence is very high amongst my squad at the moment and one of our best performances of the season was at Bradford six weeks ago. I am looking for a similar performance and it would be nice to do the double over Bradford, but the most important thing is that we get another three points on the board. It is always important to win your local derbies, but when you are joint top of the League there is even more pressure on you to win the game.

‘We are ahead of Bradford in the League but, in a game like this, form League position count for nothing. We know we are in for a very tough game and we are all looking forward to it.

‘I didn’t want to have to make a change after last week but I will have to with Hudson suspended. I do have options there but I am disappointed to lose him for the local derby because he was our best player at YeovilTown last week. It is a big opportunity for whoever steps in and I will let the players know tomorrow and everyone else will find out just before kick off.’
