Town midfielder Michael Collins is in the Ireland U21 squad for their game against the Netherlands on Tuesday 27th March.

Collins has featured regularly in the Town side this season, earning himself a new contract in the process, and this call-up is reward for his impressive form. Former Captain of the Eire Under-19 side, this will be Michael’s first appearance at this level.

Town’s Assistant Manager John Dungworth commented.

‘It’s good news for Michael Collins. He’s been playing consistently well in first-team this season and the under-21 manager Don Givens watched him at the Bradford game here last weekend. He was obviously impressed! He knows all about Michael from the under-19s and under-17s anyway, but it’s a tremendous honour for both him and the Club.

‘This season has seen Michael become an established member of the first-team squad and it’s great for us that this call-up has fallen in midweek as he won’t miss any of our games.’
